Miami Dolphins DB Jordan Poyer is wearing number 21

The Dolphins still need to address the safety position and will likely explore the free-agent market once the Howard money clears in early June. Signing Jordan Poyer was a wise move, especially given the offseason losses of DeShon Elliott and Brandon Jones. Poyer is expected to have a much greater impact than Jones did during his time in Miami.

With a successful seven-season stint with the Bills and prior experience with the Eagles and Browns, Poyer brings a wealth of experience to the team. Known for his physicality and reliable tackling, Poyer's performance far surpasses that of Jones. However, it's worth considering if he's an upgrade over Elliott, who impressed fans last season, making Miami's lack of effort to re-sign him surprising. Regardless, Poyer's intelligence, toughness, and instincts make him a valuable addition to Weaver's defense, where he is expected to form a strong partnership with Jevon Holland.
